WELBRO Seeks Subcontractor Bids for Senior Living Community

Orlando Business Journal reports “More senior-living construction work is on the way for Central Florida subcontractors.”
“General contractor Maitland-based WELBRO Building Corporation will release bids in September for a $25 million-plus Casselberry senior-living community. Interested companies can find more information at Welbro’s website. Vertical construction will begin in October, said J.P. Hurd, Welbro’s pre-construction manager.

Projects like this one show the building boom for senior housing in Orlando is continuing, which is good news for contractors, builders and subcontractors, and also adds jobs into the economy.
The community will have 154 units, including 79 for independent living, 54 for assisted living and 21 for memory care, said Randy Woodruff, community development services manager at the city of Casselberry. Allegro Senior Living of parent company Allegro Development Co. is the project developer.

Hurd said the community at the intersection of Lake Ann Road and Howell Branch Road will be along the perimeter of a lake, creating lake views from some units. Other resort-style, luxury amenities will include spas, pools, fine dining and other leisure entertainment activities.

Bessolo Design Group is the project architect. Renderings are not available, but Hurd said the Casselberry community will be modeled after another Allegro community in Boynton Beach.”
