Steve Davis

Steve Davis, Chairman of the Board

Steve has been with WELBRO since 1980 and is currently serving as Chairman of the Board. He left the US Marines with the rank of Captain in 1978 after nine years of service. He entered the construction industry at that time and has been involved in many noteworthy projects. He is experienced in all types of project delivery systems and project types.

Ken Wuenschell, President

Ken joined WELBRO in 1988 and has served in key roles ever since. After years of working in Operations, Ken transitioned to preconstruction where he eventually led WELBRO’s estimating, business development, and client relations efforts. As President, Wuenschell provides company-wide leadership, vision, and management, and helps evolve the company through a changing marketplace. He is committed to delivering quality services and creating a culture of growth and opportunity for staff.

Larry Nelson

Larry Nelson, Chief Financial Officer

Larry’s diverse responsibilities have included the direction of all financial and accounting system activities, including job cost accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, employee benefit plans, accounting, surety, legal and banking relationships for construction firms with operations throughout the United States, as well as overseas. He has directed financial and operational audits resulting in the detection of fraud and the recovery of assets in excess of $1,000,000. In addition, as Lead Auditor for the performance of Sales and Use Tax and Franchise Tax audits during his employment with the State of Texas, Comptroller of Public Accounts, he was instrumental in the assessment of undetected revenue in excess of $1 million.

He has tried-and-true local relationships to guarantee the best possible market pricing and extensive lessons learned to ensure predictability of success.

Darick Bennett

Darick Bennett, Senior Vice President

Darick joined WELBRO as a Project Engineer in 2003 and since that time took on increasing levels of responsibility and management as a Project Manager. In 2013, Darick earned the role of Director, Special Services Group where he was successfully leading the division and growing our business and then went on to Operations Manager.  In addition to leading the Special Services division and overseeing larger-scale projects as an Operations Manager, Darick became Vice President in 2019 to help ensure we build on the success and reputation we’ve already achieved across the region.  His wealth of experience and understanding of the industry, as well as his extensive knowledge of our company, makes him well-suited for the Senior Vice President role that he earned in 2021. 

Chris Cromwell, Vice President

Chris brings over 25 years of project management and leadership experience managing industrial, amenities, and healthcare projects through Florida and the Southeast.  As Vice President, Chris’s responsibilities include pursuing new markets, acting as the senior client liaison, and providing oversight from preconstruction to project delivery for all projects in these target markets.

For over 25 years, Troy has been responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and practices in response to changing business needs, advising the senior leadership team, leading a small HR department, and providing inclusive HR support for WELBRO’s employee population. Functions include recruitment and selection, onboarding, compensation and reward, performance management, employee engagement, training & development, policy development and compliance, needs assessment, strategic planning, benefits, employer branding, and change management.

Debbie Thomas

Debbie Thomas, Director of Community Development & Marketing

Debbie joined WELBRO in 2021 as the Community Engagement Manager, swiftly progressing to Director by 2023, where she now oversees our company’s Marketing and Community Engagement efforts. Prior to joining WELBRO, her impactful roles included Vice Mayor and City Council member for the City of Melbourne, and a significant position within the Melbourne-Orlando International Airport’s Airport Authority from 2014 to 2022. With a background spanning education, healthcare, and non-profit sectors, Debbie’s deep understanding of Central Florida’s dynamics enriches our strategies, positioning our company for robust, exponential growth.

Lori English, Controller

In Lori’s over forty years of experience in the accounting industry, she has led in the areas of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash, risk management, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions. She is responsible for all accounting and reporting of the WELBRO Building Corporation group of companies (including joint ventures and owner entities) through the preparation of the financial statements including cash, investments, receivables, payables, job cost, payroll, and various pools (UJO, etc.). Lori manages the performance and development of WELBRO’s Accounting and IT Departments by conducting a constant review of duties, workload, structure, and assignments.
