Project Manager

WELBRO Building Corporation has a career opportunity for a Project Manager in Central Florida.  The ideal candidate will be 7 – 12 years out of college and qualified to take on the full range of project management duties with minimal oversight.  The individual will have a great opportunity to progress as a Project Manager in our hospitality, industrial, or educations projects in the Greater Orlando area.

Key Duties

  • Manages the administrative and financial aspects of a K-12 educational project, industrial project, multi-story hotel project or healthcare project.
  • Manages activities related to project schedule, contract administration, budget control, cost adherence, and client – A/E – subcontractor communications.
  • Ensures overall project success by effectively coordinating with Site Managers (Superintendents), Project Engineers, and Operations Manager and managing the performance of project team.
  • Establish project pre-plan in collaboration with Operations Manager to establish objectives, procedures, and performance standards
  • Executes the coordination and negotiation of the buyout process
  • Coordinate with Superintendents in monitoring project progress, schedule, field issues, and job costs
  • Manage financial reporting of project by submitting monthly status reports to Operations Manager, process and approve pay requests & material invoices, and coordinate with Accounting as needed
  • Expedite change order process and communicate cost issues to owner
  • Act as liaison in maintaining exceptional relationships with client, A/E, subcontractor trades, and project team
  • Identify high-risk situations and resolve under the paradigm of service excellence to client

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university
  • 4+ years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager and/or Project Engineer with a commercial general contractor
  • 8+ years of working for a General Contractor(s) in a Project Manager career track; previous experience would include Office Engineer, Project Engineer and/or Assistant Project Manager in the commercial building construction industry. Education project experience preferred
  • High proficiency in project management applications necessary
  • Integrity, tenacity, demonstrated ability to succeed, and the attitude to do what it takes to meet and/or exceed client expectations
