WELBRO Building Corporation, one of Central Florida’s largest full-service construction firms, won an Eagle Award for the Lake Highland Preparatory Harriet Coleman Performing Arts Center in Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) 2009 Excellence in Construction Award competition.
WELBRO provided demolition work and construction of this 29,200 square foot state of the art, three story masonry facility consisting of a black box theater, Proscenium Theatre with balcony, sprung dance floor, 3 level lobby with gallery space, a box office and many other features. The facility will be used for assemblies, combined class lectures, Science fair award programs, college and career events, professional development speakers and many more functions.
The purpose of the ABC Excellence in Construction Awards competition is to recognize the outstanding projects built by the general contractor and craft trade contractor members of ABC. Such recognition will bring about a greater community and industry awareness of the quality and craftsmanship of work produced by merit shop contractors and their employees.”
Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national association representing more than 24,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms in 78 chapters across the United States. ABC's membership represents all specialties within the U.S. construction industry and is comprised primarily of firms that perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors of the industry.
