September 6, 2006, Orlando FL: Carmen Dominquez Homes and WELBRO Building Corporation are the main contractors that lead The Lisa Merlin House for Women and Children project to its success. Carmen Dominquez Homes initiated the project from the residential side and WELBRO stepped up to the plate on the building support for the home. WELBRO's involvement has had a great impact on the project by recruiting subcontractors and suppliers along with our participation in supplying masonry labor. WELBRO recruited framers, framing materials, electrical contractor and supplemented the masonry crew for the project. Donations for work on this community project are currently in excess of $60,000.00, not to mention substantial discounts on materials.
The final pour on the Site concrete drives and parking took place on Monday morning, July 31, 2006 at 7:30 a.m. Baker Concrete donated the formwork and flatwork placement , C&C Pumping donated their services, Shelplers donated steel stakes and Cemex provided the cement at a reduced cost These company's along with several others have been contributing on this project with our WELBRO team. The project will receive it Certificate of Occupancy by the end of August.
Mark Conti, Executive Director for WELBRO’s Teamworks Division coordinated the sub-contractors, suppliers and workers on various aspects of the project. Pat Werner, Vice President of Community and Economic Development for WELBRO continues to work with the Lisa Merlin House on Marketing, PR and furnishing of the new facility.
