WELBRO offers internships in five major areas of responsibility:
- Field Supervision (Superintendent Career Track)
- Field Engineering (Superintendent)
- Project Engineering (Project Management Career Track)
- Preconstruction/Estimating (Project Management / Estimating)
- Support Services (Marketing, I.T., HR)
From the onset of the internship, students go through a process designed to assimilate new associates into our culture and business processes. In addition to receiving a customized welcome package containing valuable information and gifts, each person goes through a comfortable indoctrination process. We do not believe in "herding" our interns through group orientation, but instead, make the experience a personal one. Shortly thereafter, interns go through our technology and systems training as if entering the role as a permanent associate. This is all done in an effort to ensure one has the proper tools and knowledge to be successful.
The intern's role and specific location is discussed and determined prior to starting so there are no surprises. Depending on the intern's career path interests, the opportunity is where the action is and lifetime influencing experiences begin. Our goal is to ensure interns are subjected to the same work environment and responsibilities as someone who has already graduated. The only difference is that interns are given multi-dimensional experiences and support in a shorter period of time.
